Shalom, shalom dear friends; Christmas is on our doorstep, and yet … yes our hearts are heavy. Our household account is stretched to breaking point. We feel pinched and stressed in this season of peace on earth, and goodwill toward men. Our hearts carry a strange ache that we cannot verbalize. Forces of darkness are at work among all peoples. Yet in this battle, we are not alone. God sends His obedient angels to help us, usually in ways that are hidden from us. The question is asked: ”Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” Hebrews 1:14 We are reminded: “Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some have entertained angels not knowing it.” Hebrews 13:2 Have you been aware of angels in your world? Shalom dear friends: In the Christian world, the first Advent candle was lit. Christmas is coming. This year Hanukah is Dec. 18th through 26th. Hallelujah, let us all rejoice! “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God … In him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.” John 1:1 see Genesis1:1. Isaiah 9:6, John, 4, 5 “Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool … but to this one I will look, to him who is humble and contrite in spirit and who trembles at my word.” Isaiah 66:1a,2b Welcome to our world! Dear Friends, old and young: This week, my Still Small Voice touches upon Thanksgiving, the olive harvest and prayer. Let’s begin with the Pilgrims and early pioneers of North America. Like all of us, they still had a choice in tough times. These hearty souls decided in the midst of extreme hardship, famine and loss of life to pause and to give thanks to the Almighty. Yes, still many perished. No, it wasn’t easy but it was the Godly response that moved the Hand of God to provide the miracles that they needed to sustain them in the days, weeks, months and years ahead. Today the doomsday thinkers and naysayers are calling for a worldwide depression and financial collapse. Jerusalem, on the other hand, is suffering increased deadly attacks yet faithful ones in the midst of her give praise and worship to the Almighty continually. Dear Friends: Those of you from whom I hear, are often on my heart for prayer. What a privilege it is to communicate. My theme in this Still Small Voice is tribes. From childhood my life has been impacted by many tribal groups, perhaps it all began knowing my great great grandmother was of the Shaw Clan, a Scots Highlander. I grew up with the Bible, learning in depth about Israel and her people-tribes. “… and behold on the clouds of heaven, One like a Son of Man was coming. And he came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented to Him. And to him (The Messiah) was given dominion (supreme authority). Shalom Dear Friends: Sometimes I think we become all too familiar with the many privileges of being a believer in a God who lives! What do I mean? I know that I have not appreciated the immense potential granted me through His Living Word. We speak it daily, read and discuss it, but do I release it? I woke up this morning with some instructions: “My Word IS the source of Life, hinder me not!” Our Shabbat dinner is the highlight of the week. This week, two sons, a kalah, (Hebrew for a son’s wife}, a family friend and a delightful 22-month-old grandson were our guests. As is our custom, after the blessings we hugged and kissed before beginning to eat. It was a superb feast of fresh fish caught earlier in the day and masterfully prepared by our Greek friend. We topped it off with chocolate cake, berries and ice cream. Yummy. The real piece d’resistance was the scripture reading that followed. Today, who isn’t seeking direction in this upside-down world? To the dear company of my Friends: “Intercessors are really prophets who pray.” Jennifer Evaz With the mounting stress, I turn to prayer. What do you do? Prayer is thankless work. One engages mostly alone with the LORD or in fellowship with fellow believers. As a prayer warrior-intercessor-prophet, have you ever expected to be thanked? Of course not. I find the communion and fellowship with Yeshua my greatest reward, and I learn new things all the time. Thank you for also being willing to bear this yoke. No it is not easy. We don’t expect ‘easy’, for His burden IS Light! Prayer brings change, God’s way. I have kept a journal over the years, and the answers and solutions to insurmountable circumstances have been amazing. Shalom Dear Friends; Canada and the Future??? Canada is at a tipping point … Yes, it’s almost more than you want to know. No one knows what is going to happen. On our latest tour, across our great homeland coast to coast, what did we find? It is true; Canadians are modest and careful people. Most are slow to speak and slow to anger. But Canada has changed dramatically since our last visit in 2019. Persecution is a reality. It begins with warnings, real danger and abuse which we discuss in this issue of Still Small Voice. Happily, I found the Action4Canada website. Lawyers and other professional Christians courageously defend Canadians’ rights and freedoms. They teach us how not to be afraid but active. action4canada.com. Did you Know? Dr. James Lunney and his wife Helen treated us to a tour of Ottawa, our capital city. James is a former Federal Member of Parliament. They pointed out the landmarks, including the enormous Chinese Embassy. Shalom Dear Friends: Jay dipped a small container into Pacific waters lapping up on Willow’s Bay in Victoria, on Vancouver Island. One of the last things he did was pour out the Pacific water into the Atlantic Ocean as it lapped up on the shores of Prince Edward Israel. This prophetic act symbolizes the journey of 6,000 kilometres we have been on across Canada from coast to coast. Our call was to encourage and alert Father God’s people in Canada to the brevity of the hour we find ourselves in. Jesus said, “the gates of hell will NOT prevail against the church!” Next week I hope to address the ongoing persecution against evangelicals in Canada. We have been privileged to spend these last six momentous weeks with Christians from one side of this great nation of Canada to the other. We are thrilled to see the Messianic Church arising.
