Still Small Voice / Shavuot – Feast of Pentecost, 5th Sivan 5783. May 25th 2023.

Dear Friends;

I love writing the Still Small Voice to you, but alas, I hear almost nothing back.

We trust and pray that this letter will be relevant and minister to you at Pentecost.

We are celebrating the Feast of Shavuot – Pentecost, which began on the 49th day of the counting of the Omer. What is that, you ask? Well, originally it was the counting of sheaves of wheat as offerings in the temple for the period after Passover up to Shavuot. In Christianity, Pentecost is celebrated on the 50th day after Easter. For both religions the 49 days include a time of restraint from celebrating or eating certain foods; in Christianity, it is called lent

Shavuot:

Today, we shared a Zoom call with Pastor Noel’s congregation in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada. I explained that in Israel everything is “show and tell”.  Now is actually the wheat and barley harvest. Up in Galilee and on the Golan, the harvest as been gathered in. The wheat has been gathered, leaving huge bales of straw strewn across the fields. It is also a time of great fruitfulness as evidenced in the market stalls.  We have a second harvest again at the Feast of Tabernacles in September/October, and we see the same incredible fruitfulness. This Feast commemorates the giving of the Law to Moses on Mount Sinai.

Pentecost:

The ‘other worldly’ Biblical chapter of Acts chapter 1 opens with the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the body of Jewish believers gathered in Jerusalem at the command of Jesus who said: “But wait in the city of Jerusalem until you are clothed with power from on high.”

Luke 24:49

For all of the 120 gathered together, their lives were renovated by the power of God as promised.  They were commissioned as ambassadors for the kingdom on heaven of earth and were so charged with the Presence and Power of the Almighty that Peter witnessed and 3,000 souls came to Messiah the same day in Jerusalem. They set the known world at that time on fire for God, and they paid the ultimate price. The cost of discipleship to follow the King of heaven bears the name cost today.

The War on the Ground:

Have you ever prayed this scripture? I have.

“If only you would tear the heavens open and come down, so that mountains would quake at your presence.”

Isaiah 64:1

Canada under Fire:

Don’t we all feel like this as things seem only to worsen?  Jay joins me in our calling out the double standard my birth nation is groaning under. For example, here is a short clip of how the Canadian PM disgraced himself and his people.

Alberta under Attack:

A most urgent need is prayer for the Canadian  Province of Alberta facing an election for Premier. The war is on as Alberta is the 4th wealthiest area globally for natural resources. The Federal government backed by China is doing its best to claw these rights away from the  local inhabitants.

Israel under Siege:

Meanwhile in the early hours of this morning, the current Israeli government, the Knesset, passed the new budget and the Economic Arrangements Law, passed in the early hours this morning, 64 pro, 55 against. The dispute covers the 14 billion shekels of special allocations for the needs of the coalition party members. (It goes into the coffers of the Ultra Orthodox and no thought was given to the rising taxation and mortgages born by the hard working middle class. Many feel we have been hijacked by rising inflation.)

I repeat this cry:

“If only you would tear the heavens open and come down, so that mountains would quake at your presence.”

Isaiah 64:1

But at the moment as I Meridel, write to you, the nation of Israel is quiet. You see the Sabbath rest of this Feast is here. We turn to the LORD with all of our hearts and say “thank you” from a heart full of gratefulness for the magnificent gift of life. No matter what man is trying to do.

“Let everything that has breath praise God, Hallelujah!”

Psalm 150:6

Hallel, the Hebrew word for “praise,” is the linguistic root of the most common word used in the worship of God by people around the world: Hallelujah!

The primary goal of Hallel is recognizing God’s ability to override the laws of nature and perform miracles and acts of salvation on our behalf. By praising God, we recognize the goodness that is in the world and in our own lives. King David taught us how to open our hearts and truly praise God with all of our being. It’s fitting that the last of the 150th  psalm ends with the verse, “Let everything that has breath praise God, Hallelujah!” Psalms 150:6

“When the LORD brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream and our mouths were filled with laughter and our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations: the LORD has done great things for us whereof we are glad.”

Psalm 126: 1-3.

Let us be filled with the Spirit of the living God in these days of trial. My we be overcomes and find grace in His sight. May He grant us favor in His throne room and with on earth. May He turn and over turn the wicked. Let us all worship in the Name of the LORD our God! Hallelujah.

Beloved friends:

As a dear Albertan hero said, ‘Hold the line!”

Blessings from Meridel Rawlings and her family.

We want you to enjoy the be beauty of praise in Jerusalem

Shabbat Shalom.

Still Small Voice – May 22nd, 2023

Dear Friends:

These are serious days. After my husband read this letter, he looked up at me and said, “I hear the sound of warning coming from a prophet.”

Yes, it’s tough stuff. But if Christians believe, to the Jew first, as Paul taught, then why will this principal of Divine Authority not also visit us? And let’s face it; just look at the times the nations are living through. Are we all getting the message? Father God is looking for His own. Can we still pray, keep a good spirit and look up for our Redemption?

“Say, therefore, to the Israelite people: ‘I am God. I will free you from the labors of the Egyptians and deliver you from their bondage. I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and through extraordinary chastisements.’”

Exodus 6:6 Hebrew Bible

Extraordinary Chastisements:

What do you think? Do the 1,500 missiles that hit Israel this past week, ( some fell near our home), qualify as extraordinary chastisement? Is the hatred against Israel fomented in the UN, choosing to curse Israel on her 75th birthday across the world,  by taking up the Palestinian rant of neck bah – disaster; not an extraordinary chastisement?  What about the ongoing threats and terror against civilians, that have never ceased since 1880 when the first pioneers returned to Palestine from Lithuania? Would you think that is an “extraordinary chastisement”?

How can you pray effectively for Israel; if these extraordinary chastisements have been determined from heaven? What an awful thought! What would the Almighty want His people to grasp? How do they keep missing this scripture from their very own Bible all of these years? How do you think you would deal with the daily reality of such hateful neighbours and the continual threats of annihilation? Be honest!

May I suggest you pray for all of the peoples of this region: the Jews, Arabs and the Christians amongst us. Pray for the Arabs to get a grip on this reality of hatred they have been taught from their mother’s milk and face their vicarial hatred of Israel before it’s too late.  Pray for a revelation of Messiah to come upon all Rabbis. Pray for the Jews to return to the Living One and stop fighting the Biblical ways of the LORD. Pray for them to have the opportunity to know the Way the Truth and the Life. Pray for the Christians in the country to stand up and be counted as shining lights in a dark place. Pray for the Messianic Jews to keep on keeping on, refusing to bend or bow to the dictates of a hateful religious system. Pray for all people. Everyone has post-traumatic stress. We are worn out with the conflicts and never-ending stresses of life inside and outside of Israel. The highest rate of Jew hatred in the world since WW2 is today. Pray for a visitation from heaven. Pray this scripture please:

“For I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you and I will remove the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Ezekiel: 36:23, 25, 26.

Jerusalem Day:

Jerusalem was wrestled out of the malicious hand of Jordan 56 years ago today. Jordan had decimated the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem, burning it to the ground and turning synagogues into horse stables. They used gravestones from the Mount of Olives to pave a road into Jerusalem, used some of them as latrines. From the walls of the Old City their solders shot just 30 feet distance into the city hall, all the while Mayor Teddy Kollek and staff kept working day and night. The stone building still bears the pock marks of those bullets. Jerusalem was a divided Jerusalem 24/7 from 1948 to 1967! And so today, we celebrate the coming together of a once divided Jerusalem. We celebrate its amazing restoration. We rejoice in its repossession, cleansing and rebuilding. What was once desecrated and despised, is becoming one of the most beautiful cities on earth. Would to God we Israelis will be restored in like manner. Pray for this please!

Today. Jerusalem is fast becoming Israel’s first city with more than one million residents. A Central Bureau of Statistics report published this week shows 984,500 people, currently call Jerusalem home. One in ten Israelis reside in our capital. 60% are Jewish (including the non-Arab population), 39.2% are Arabs. About 29% are religious Jews. Last year our population increased by 12,200 residents.

The Jerusalem March was a great celebration. “For me the highlight was watching the 2,000 Christians who came from Germany to rejoice with us. They danced and waved the Israeli flag and encouraged all they met. What shouted loudly was the fact that they are the living relatives of former WW2 Nazis! They brought joy and encouragement and HOPE to the entire city of Jerusalem and nation of Israel, as you can imagine.” Enjoy the video clip below and rejoice with us.

Pray: “What can I bring to Jerusalem?”

“Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth

if I do not remember you,

if I do not prefer Jerusalem

above my chief joy.”

 Psalm: 137:6

Still Small Voice – 21st Iyar 5783, May 12th 2023

Dear Friends:

It is guaranteed; there is never a dull moment in Israel!

Yesterday, we celebrated the covenant – brit or circumcision of our youngest family member, Gabriel Victor.  Gabriel means ‘Messenger of God’. The angel Gabriel came to the prophet Daniel to show him what must come to pass in the End Days, and appears again to Miriam – Mary announcing the favor upon her to give birth to the coming Messiah. ‘Victor’ is one of the names of Messiah. Daniel and Shelly’s second son is named after his Great Grandfather Victor Alloway, a Canadian soldier who fell fighting in Holland for the liberation of Europe.

Fifty friends joined us here in our garden, on the outskirts of Jerusalem to celebrate and rejoice over the great goodness of the LORD. We gathered just after 12 noon when large menacing booms filled the atmosphere overhead. They were indicative of Israel’s Iron Dome taking out rockets sent from Gaza, falling within just a few kilometres of us. They were aimed at the world-famous Hadassah Hospital. A few guests did not venture out, too afraid to leave the protection of their homes and bomb shelters. This is our daily reality. All proxies of Iran, Islamic Jihad and Hamas want us to go to war with Gaza, then the Hezbullah will attack from Lebanon, and Syria from the East. Israel bides her time, and will not be pushed into war.

My sister sent this: “I wanted to let you know that the churches all across the world are praying for Israel right now.  The church is being called to bless Israel.  My church is a little bit behind but we are being faithful personally and have joined with others that are praying.  I just wanted you to know.  I hope that encourages you.”

God bless the Christians who are awake and on their feet concerning the vital place Israel must play in the earth. Now, I will share a prophetic word, given years ago, which is still as timeless and meaningful today as the day it was first uttered. Then we will balance it with the Word, and hopefully share a few poignant insights into the very special moments in the garden with our dearest friends and family.

There is a delicate yet powerful relationship that must exist between Christians who will stand and fight in the Spirit of God and the Israelis who are living out the actual physical battles on the ground here. This word clearly speaks of both.

“The nations are itching. The nations are hungry for war. The nations are crying for war. “Give us blood !” they say. “We want blood.”

“Have you not had enough blood says the Spirit of God? Blood from children? And what has happened to my shepherds throughout the earth? Jeremiah, Ezekiel and Christ saw it. The shepherds have scattered. Where are my shepherds? They have run from the intimidating force that prods, saying:”

‘Give me a man. Come, come and give us a man that we may fight and show you our strength.’”

“But the Spirit of the LORD says, ‘I have young men and women like David and they do not  want to hide under the armour of Saul. There is a new way and yet there is an old way. I Am the stone for this generation. That stone is my son, that stone is the rock, Christ Jesus. That stone shall be given to the Davids of this generation. It shall bring down the force of hell that is crying from Russia, Syria and Iran and from all over the world crying, give us blood. X4 But the Spirit of God says, NO, there shall be no world war yet. For I have yet to show you the manifestation of a rock in the hand of a generation that shall bring down the voice of hell. This is my will. Look for it for it is coming says the Spirit of God.’”

The late Tim Clement

We believe this clear prophetic word speaks of the intricate partnership between the believing church and Israel. May one and all take courage and keep on!

Covenant of the Land and People of Israel:

Meanwhile, while the war was being waged in the heavens above us, Jay welcomed our guests to the garden’s serenity heavy with the scent of roses. He reminded us all where we had come from and where we are going. His words fell like a healing balm to our raw emotions and anxious thoughts.

The Land and the People:“I will establish my covenant, everlasting promise between Me and you and I will multiply you exceedingly through your descendants … for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. I will give you a possession, all the land of Canaan … your part in the agreement is you and your descendants after you shall keep and obey the covenant throughout their generations. This is a sign … every male among you shall be circumcised; it shall be a sign, symbol, memorial of the covenant between Me and you … a sign in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.”

Genesis 17:1-12

It is a blood covenant. When tiny Gabriel gasped in pain two weeks ago at his brit, we could not but shed a few tears. Yes it is a painful exercise, but God wants men who can give over the lusts of the flesh in favor of His ways to stand faithfully and bless protect their wives, families and nation. It is very serious. Consequently, Israel is alive and well today. Jay went on to share this glorious promise to the nation:

“Thus says the LORD who has given the sun for light by day and the fixed order of the moon and the stars for light by night … the LORD of Hosts is His Name: If this fixed order departs from before Me says the LORD, then the descendants of Israel will cease from being a nation before me forever, thus says the LORD!”

Jeremiah 31:35,36

I believe that we were all warmed and encouraged by the sweet fellowship. Many of Daniels’s old buds were here. I sat with Gal and Eliyah, whom I watched grow up with Daniel from the age of three. Eliyah is now the father of five-month-old Tomer, and Gal and his wife Sivan will soon be parents. Gal hugged me like a mother and wouldn’t let me go. The bond between us is family. Friends from our Haifa days came and are planning a reunion of the old guard of 47 years. Yeah! Tim the god-father of our sons came and is still going strong at age 77. Daniel and Shelly are moving to Greece at the end of May and have this time to also say farewell to their lifelong friends. Chef Shelly had led Mom and Dad and Daniel in preparing a sumptuous feast for the event, right down to two giant freshly bakes hallot, Shabbat breads.

Buds for 33 years

Thank you for your prayers, dear friends. We will never be forsaken. Never underestimate the power of your prayers and tears.

Still Small Voice – Iyar 14, 8573 / May 5th 2023

Dear Friends,

One of my favourite sounds is the wind blowing through our trees, especially the all-stately palms. Their response to this unseen power is immediate.

Their swaying makes a sound like no other, demanding my attention. I pause…

“The wind blows where it wishes …

so it is with everyone who is born on the Spirit.“

John 3:8

It has been an exceptionally busy week; with many highs and painful lows which have left me feeling spent. Israel is tense and intense, as is the entire earth at this time in history. This week, Israel bombed with beginnings of a nuclear reactor Iran was building in Syria. Great Britain celebrates the Coronation of King Charles 111rd tomorrow. The world will never be the same again. And sadly, we learned about the horrendous camps in Quebec Canada where migrants are put in pup tents. The government hopes, ‘out of sight out of mind’. God bless the investigative reporters who are on the job and will not be silenced. God Bless anyone who dares to see the encroaching darkness and stands up in prayer and takes whatever action is deemed necessary. Consequently, I share a small inspiration from scripture. Here we sense the intensity of David’s crying out.

“Hear this, all peoples;

Listen carefully, all inhabitants of the world.

Both low and high, rich and poor together.

Why should I fear the days of evil,

When the wickedness of those who would betray me

Surrounds me [on every side].

Even those who trust in and rely on their wealth

And boast of the abundance of their riches?

None of them can by any means redeem [either himself or] his brother,

Nor give to God a ransom for him –

For the ransom of his soul is too costly.

And he should cease trying forever –

So that he should live on eternally,

That he should never see the pit (grave)

And undergo decay.

But man, with all his [self] honor

And pomp will not endure;

Psalm 49:1,2,5,6,7,8,9a,12a

Jesus said:

“Blessed, {spiritually prosperous, to be admired]

Are you who are poor {in spirit, those devoid of spiritual arrogance,

significance, regarding themselves as insignificant]

For the kingdom of God is your

[Both now and forever].

Luke 6:20, Matthew 5:3-12

And with those thoughts of King David and Messiah Jesus, I bless each and everyone.

Still Small Voice – Iyar 7th 5783 / April 29th 2023

Dear Friends:

News flash:

Our 10th grandchild has arrived and the house is full of ‘oohing’ and ‘awing’ by friends and family. The wee one is a beautiful 4-kilo boy with a full head of hair; his proud parents are Dan and Shelly, and he is their second son.

Your comments are most appreciated and thank you for praying for Israel and her diverse people at this crucial time.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep.”

Romans 12:15

This is another week of tears in Israel; but this time it is followed with great rejoicing.  First, every mother and father in Israel whose children served in the Israel Defence Forces have memories. Our Day of Remembrance for the fallen is a time to listen as families tell the stories of their irreparable losses. 3 of our sons have experienced the military here, and all 3 returned home when some of their buddies did not.

When one falls in Israel, we all feel the loss because we are a family nation, despite what it may look like on the outside. One mother Orna, sits on her son’s gave-side mourning the loss of Gadi, who fell at age 19 in the Givati brigade. (Our eldest son David served in Givati, a combat unit.) She is 76 this year and for the first time in Israel’s history, her request is for the politicians to stay away from the Military Cemeteries and give the grieving public some relief from their endless rhetoric. She told a reporter at the Jerusalem Post: “Is this our holiest day?”

She is opposed to the planned list to her son’s cemetery by National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Givir. “This person did not serve, did not wear a uniform for a day, never stood in an honor guard for fallen comrades – what does he have to do here? It hurts me to say this, but I speak from the depths of my heart. But look at what is happening in this country today, God help us! At this holy place everything needs to be holy… these are our children. We need only to hear the birdsong and the siren, that’s all and not to desecrate this place for heaven’s sake. Is it that hard to understand? When you are told not to come, don’t come!”

Photo: Joshua Rawlings after completing the 6 months of basic training in the Paratroopers Brigade.

Herzl Halevi, Chief of the Israeli Defence Forces:

“Memorial Day drives a deep connection between the personal and the national. This year, especially amid tensions, we must focus on personal remembrance as we wrap ourselves in the deafening power of silence and unity. We unite with our loved ones who have fallen in battle. The pain of loss echoes the pain of many families in Israel. Mourning has no address; it may knock on the door of any family whose sons and daughters serve in the army.” Our homeland will soon celebrate 75 years as a modern nation.”

At sunset, after the 24-hour period of national mourning, a change sweeps in. Young and old throng the streets, flying Israeli flags, banners and balloons. They throw streamers, shoot off fireworks, eat, sing, dance and rejoice. The following day, there are so many barbecues, the smoke can even  be seen from outer space. Well, Israel is the original nation of barbecues is it not! On that note, you might take a moment or to read our Scroll of Independence.  (Declaration of Independence)

The Sabbath:

Now, it is time to gather my thoughts and prepare for Shabbat! Our son David reminded me of when he was a child, and how he loved Fridays at school. That was when the children learned the entire process of making little hallot (shabbat breads). They baked enough to eat on the spot and proudly carry the rest home to their families.

“The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath.”

Mark 2:27

These words of the Savior remind us that the Sabbath day is a gift; a blessing to all of mankind. We discovered it here in Israel, to be just that! We found it to be one of the loveliest gifts the God of Israel created for His people Israel and the world. After the six days of Creation, God rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath as a memorial of Creation; the 4th commandment is in perfect harmony with the teachings and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath. It is a foretaste of our eternal future in God’s kingdom. It is also a perpetual sign of His eternal covenant with His people. Joyful observance of this holy time from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, is a celebration of God’s creative and redemptive acts. Gen. 2:1-3; Exod. 20:8- 77; Luke 4:16, Isa. 56:5, 6; 58:13, 14; Matt. 12:1-12; Exod. 31:13-17; Ezek. 20:12, 20; Deut. 5:12-15; Heb. 4:1-11; Lev. 23:32; Mark 1:32.

Although the world is still blind to this truth; what a gift and blessing it is to those who take this rest. Israel is absolutely unique in that as much as possible, the nation calms right down and a spirit of quietness and rest covers us all on Shabbat. We look forward to this celebration. It is a time for refreshing, reflection, worship, Bible reading, family visits and feasting. Even the animals were granted rest by their merciful Creator.

Music for Shabbat: Enjoy!

Shabbat Shalom.

With love from the Meridel Rawlings and the Family.

Still Small Voice – Nisan 30th 5783, April 21st 2023

Dear Friends:

These are the days of wonder, in which we question and pray.

“They who sow in tears shall reap with songs of joy.”

 Psalm 125:5

Rabbi Carlebach explained  that Instead of reading this verse as, “They who sow in tears, shall reap with songs of joy,” perhaps it should read it, “They who sow in tears and songs of joy shall reap!” Rabbi Carlebach explained that everything has both tears and joy in it. Sometimes, in order to achieve true joy we need to shed some tears; very real, very holy tears.”

Jay writes: “As we are busy here in Israel, we can see the impossibly painful things unfolding without and within, along with the evil intent, confusion disillusion, tears and anxiety. There are few ‘songs of joy’. We are in the throes of birth pangs, or painful cramps, and blood. In the natural when a mother goes into labour, we are assured the baby will soon appear.  Here in Israel, we cry for deliverance, but still it doesn’t come. We can discern the times, but we have to work hard not to judge. We realize as we grope to understand, that we see through a glass darkly. Our Heavenly Father alone is Judge. Together Meridel and I are reading the Prophet Ezekiel, we just read chapter 36; one of my most favorite chapters in the entire Bible. We are left with more questions than answers.”

Meridel writes: “The great historical process of Israel’s Redemption is being played out, and we just happen to be on location at this time to watch up close and personal. Yes, we can actually put dates on some of the verses, and their historical timeframes … for history past. We read of history present and history future and we want all the answers now. But, Israel’s full painful birthing process is far from being over. We work to acknowledge that The Almighty created the nations. Israel’s historical time-frame cannot always be understood. As much as we want the lion and lamb to lie down together, and all weapons forged into ploughs; the Keeper of Time alone holds the keys. May the Lord have mercy upon us all as we work, pray, trust, hope in His Salvation, and rest in His love.”

Holocaust Remembrance Day:

The poignant and legitimate question of an Israeli friend are:  “This day in Israel is a day on which we mourn, honour, remember and pray that ‘Never Again’ will be our reality. A state ceremony is held at the Holocaust Memorial Museum; and every military base, town, city, village, and public institution has a ceremony to mark the event. In schools the children dress in white and a Holocaust Survivor comes to talk to them, although sadly fewer and fewer are still alive to tell their tale of horror. At 10.00, Israel came to a stop. Sirens wail around the country for two minutes. Buses stop at the side of the road as do cars; the drivers and passengers. Everyone stands silently in respect. The single wail of the siren seeps into one’s soul; reminding us all of the 6 million lost. What happened when propaganda convinced entire nations that we were the devil incarnate, the cause of the world’s troubles? Is it the sin of being Jewish …?”

“We are a people that survives and ultimately thrives but why oh why does hatred haunt our history and follow us even up into today? Why are we the ‘Chosen People’ only to be chosen for all the wrong reasons? Is it because we are different? Is it because we pray differently? In truth too many of us don’t even pray any more. Is it because we eat different foods? Yet again many of us don’t follow the dietary rules. Is it because we look different? Sometimes. Is that reason enough for murder? So why? Again, because we are Jews … ?” By Sheila an Israeli

An Echo comes Back … from another Israeli friend, Orith

“God has to remind me that it doesn’t matter what I myself, my family (dead or alive) and all people; whether I met them or not – think of me.

What counts is how He sees me, and what He thinks of me.

He is the Light to my feet and the lamp to my path – Psalm 119:105

He sends angels to protect me  – (psalm 91:11)

He will never leave me nor forsake me – (Deuteronomy 31:6-8)

He supplies all my needs – (Philippians 4:19)

He corrects me, like a loving father, when I need it – (Hebrew 12:6-12)

He answers my prayers – (Proverbs 15:29) He is All in All – God loves me. and this is what’s important. What He thinks of me, how He sees me – for He sees me through the blood of His son, Yeshua the Messiah. Because of this, I am acceptable in the Beloved because He paid for my sin and yours.”

I hope you enjoy this true story told over British radio, years after the war by a Jew who grew up in a British orphanage. Our hero is a young child, one of the thousands, saved from Nazi Germany by the Kinder Transport Operation.

Chasing the King

by Dina Cohn

One day a thrilling announcement was made, King George V1 was coming to visit the orphanage. The excited children were instructed to put on their best clothes for the occasion. They lined up outside awaiting the King’s arrival. However, they were let down, when they realized, they were only present to wave to the King as he drove past in his car.  Disappointment filled their hearts. But then, something unexpected happened!  One of the boys broke rank and started to run after the car. He ran as fast as he could, knocking on the bumper until it came to a stop. The side back door opened and the little boy found himself face to face with the King.

King George V1 asked, “What’s wrong son?”

The lad explained: “I had been hoping to meet you to express my gratitude for bringing me to England. However, you see, I’m terribly lonely as my parents are still over there …”

The King listened patiently, “What is your name son?” He inquired. “Where are you from?” Breathlessly the child blurted out the details. “Thank you for your kind words.” The King said before saying, “Goodbye now.” He closed the car door, leaving the little fellow standing there in the middle of the road.

Just a few weeks later, the headmaster of the orphanage called the boy into his office. He was nervous, not knowing what he could have possibly done wrong. To his amazement, the headmaster revealed that the King had been deeply moved by their encounter. He opened a side door and there stood his Mom and Dad!

The man who retold this story, years later,  couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of remorse. “I have spent the last 60 years asking myself why I had not chased after the King.

The truth is, we all have a chance to chase after the King. Do we take the opportunity when it is presented, or do live a life of regret and missed opportunities?

“And the King shall answer, and say to them, Truly I say to you, inasmuch as you have done it to one of the least of these, My brothers, you have done it to Me …”

Matthew 25:40

This week, may each one reading my letter be encouraged to run after your King and find the COMFORT and answers you need. May Israel be mightily comforted. Thank you for praying for the nation and Jerusalem.

With love and blessings from Jerusalem,

Meridel Rawlings

Still Small Voice – Nisan 24th 5783 / April 16th 2023

Dear Friends;

“For the coming of the Son of Man (the Messiah) will be just like the days of Noah … “

Jesus in Matthew 24:37

In Noah’s day, the sons of God (sons of rulers possessed by fallen angels) co-habited with the daughters of men and produced a race of godless giants. (Genesis 6. Amplified Bible.) A godless social order ruled the earth. In short, the natural order of procreation was tampered with, as in today’s reality. We are witnessing ever-increasing numbers who have succumbed to the mental lies and pressure of their true self-identity. This confusion is pushing many to seek the physical mutilation of their bodies through the medical systems. Governments condone and supervise, while parents are silenced.

“But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned … I will require his blood from the watchman’s hand.”

Ezekiel 33:6

In September and October 2022, I gave warning of the dire future of Canada. I pray to the Almighty that it was heeded. I have no indication that it was. Our work is to warn and speak truth in love.  This letter is another sounding, a very severe one.

I am asking you to watch this investigative film and share it with your family and circle of friends. Dr. Carrie Made obtained 4 vials of the coronavirus vaccines to document their contents under a microphone. As of the making of this film, no other video evidence of this kind has been displayed. We who were jabbed as obedient law-abiding citizens, consequently have been made neuromuscular transmitters. I pray you will heed the warnings and LIVE.

In one of the last scenes in the film, with tears, Mr. Cliente asks  “where can we run?” The answers are found in the Bible.

The 2030 agenda: (Click the link to open)

We are not terrified in that we know our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Our souls are safe, untouchable, eternal. This takes the sting out of death. There is NOTHING to fear but fear itself. Not standing up and actively choosing LIFE is guaranteed death at the hands of the unscrupulous. Sadly, they are found in every nation.

Jay and I succumbed to taking the coronavirus vaccine.  Israelis were forced, and we erred, because we were forbidden to travel out from Israel unvaccinated. Our lives have never been the same. We were poisoned and have suffered nerve damage, numbness, generalized weakness, muscle spasms and regret.  Mr. Netanyahu passed into law the order to seal all recorded dealing with Pfizer for the next 50 years. He sold Israel, down the river. Our globalist leader give over all of our personal medical data to whom? I can ask but there are no answers. What was his pay-back? We will never know. To many Christians, he is a Prince. Please get the facts on the ground.

Our hope lies in the words of Messiah-Jesus:

“So I say to you, ask and keep on asking and it will be given to you; seek and keep on seeking, and you will find; knock and keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who keeps on asking [persistently] finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, the door will be opened. What father among you, if his son asked for a fish, will give him a snake instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you, then, being evil [that is sinful by nature] know how to give good gifts  to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask and continue to ask Him?”

Luke 11:13

Send in your comments, negative and positive.

Sincerely;

Dr. Meridel Rawlings.

Still Small Voice – Easter Sunday / Nisan 18th 5783, April 9th 2023

Shalom from Jerusalem dear Friends:

Josh drove us to the airport in Athens Greece, David picked us up at Ben Gurion airport in Israel and Daniel and Shelly had the Sabbath candles lit and a feast spread out before us upon arrival home. We are grateful to all four sons who shower us with loving-kindness. Chris up in Helsinki does the same, of course.

Jay and I arrived back in Israel Friday night to the intense crush of terror breaking all around. Rockets from Gaza and Lebanon did their best to disturb. A bank was hit and the lead balls and bolts packed into the missiles smashed through the front of the building, destroying computers. A mother and her daughters were shot while driving along the Dead Sea road. The two girls died and the mother is fighting for her life. This very night a car rammed into 7 tourists in Tel Aviv killing one, and injuring the others. This is our reality in Israel today. Today Syria lobbed 6 missiles towards Israel, and 3 landed in Syria and Jordan. In Israel, no lives have been lost in any of these missile attacks.

Today is holy to Jews. Attention was focused on the Western Wall; in Greek it is translated, as The Wall of Tears. Here, the Cohanim gave the priestly blessing to Israel. You know it, say it with me: “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you; and be gracious to you. The LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you His peace. So Aaron and his sons put My Name upon the children, and I will bless them.” Numbers 18: 24-27

How comforting is that? No other nation has this divine mandate of an Eternal Covenant that God first spoke to Father Abraham.

Food for Thought:

“When the righteous are in authority and become great, the people rejoice; But when the wicked man rules, the people groan and sigh.”

Proverbs 29:2

“I will bring them (all Israel) back home again from the land … until no room can be found for them. And they will pass through the sea of distress and anxiety with the LORD leading His people, as at the Red Sea …”

Zechariah 10: 10,11.

We’ve just come through Passover when we rehearsed the first deliverance from Egypt. Only The LORD God of Israel knows what our future holds. We know the end of it all will be glorious. “I Meridel, do believe God’s Word is absolute. We sense we are coming into Jacob’s Trouble. Will our government play right into the hands of enemies, as weird as that may sound?  We have also awakened to the truth that Jesus sent his Apostles OUT of Israel to the world. None of them was here during the destruction in 70 AD. He left clear instructions to leave Jerusalem when the armies approach. I believe this word applies to today and I would be a fool to say I understand it. We are waiting and listening on the LORD who has the words of LIFE at this critical time in our history.”

Today, Israelis came to visit. We sat together chatting in the shade of a large olive tree as the temperature was up to 33C here today. “It’s so good that you have a home in Greece at this time.” They said.  “How did you know? Are you prophets?”

Jay and I were careful to explain that Israel’s entire history, past, present and future is written by the Prophets including The Revelation and of course, spoken of by Jesus. Everyone here is trembling, as there seems to be absolutely NO let up with the bad news be it from the government, or the madness of the nations surrounding us. When we mentioned Jacob’s Trouble: their response was this: “We as a people have never lived without trouble! I am brokenhearted,” our friend Gili said.

Please pray for Israel’s peace and for Jerusalem.

Believers in the Messiah have good news: “He is risen!”

Because of Jesus we live and move and have our being. I must tell you, it is a real joy to be in Greece where Passover is the most important Feast of the entire year. Jesus is loved, and many know Him personally. Grace blankets the nation and we need a place to rest and take stalk of the intense lives that we have lived in Israel. We are very pleased with the ongoing relationship of cooperation between Israel and Greece. It is comforting for us Israelis.

Today Jay lit a 24-hour candle in honour of the memory of his father, Victor Alloway Rawlings, who fell on this day, April 9th 1945, in WW11 in Holland.

Thank you for your prayers all of these years. We plan to stay in Israel for three months before returning to Greece.  Let us continue to stay in touch. Here is a very very good film on the Holy Land that takes us back to Biblical Times. I pray you will enjoy it as much as we did. With this, I will close, as it is a busy time for us all.

Loving greetings from our Jerusalem home to yours:

Jay and Meridel Rawlings and family.

Still Small Voice – Nisan 9th, 5783 / March 31st, 2023

Dear Friends who love the Still Small Voice;

Take a moment, and come and worship with me. We read the following passage at our breakfast table this morning and the glory of the LORD came upon Joshua, Jay and I. We could only worship and give thanks for His mercy does endure forever.

We love to remember our family and friends young and old in prayer.

“Isaac went out to mediate in the field toward evening …

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

be acceptable in Your sight O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

the moon and the stars, which You have ordered;

what is the man that you take thought of him?

Great are the works of the LORD;

they are studied by all who delight in them.

How blessed is the man

who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,

nor stand in the path of sinners,

or sit in the seat of scoffers?

But his delight is In the law of the Lord,

and in His law, [teachings and statutes] he meditates day and night.

This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth!

My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness

 And my mouth offers praises with joyful lips;

when I remember You on my bed.

I meditate on You in he night watches.”

Genesis 24:63, Psalm 19:14 Psalm 8:34, Psalm 111:2, Psalm 1:1,2, Joshua 1:8, Psalm 64:5,6.

Israel: Rule or Ruin

Intolerance and Power – are the two most dangerous aspects of any society, but we are not any society: we are a people who know what racism is, a people that have suffered oppression yet came together to form a wonderful democratic society for all. We opened our arms to refugees from the Holocaust, Arab Countries, Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union, Ethiopia and the West. Instead of describing them as refugees, we say they are coming home – making Aliya. We were, are and will be one people again, it will take time to ease the pain of the enforced rift between us, but we will make it.

This is the week that was, with the largest riots enveloping the nation in our history. Our leader had to backtrack… for now. After Passover and our upcoming 75th Independence Day celebrations, let us see if anything has really changed. We petition heaven for both sides to sit down with President Herzog and others without any preconditions and reach compromises that each side can accept. Thank you for your invaluable prayers for Jerusalem and all of Israel.  Know that your prayers and tears and recorded on high. My heart has been as heavy as lead since our internal troubles began with the new Parliament. I could not shake the sadness. This morning it was dissipated by the ever-loving and faithful Presence of our Messiah. Hallelujah! Now, that I am able to distance myself I can see. I realize that because Jay and I and our sons, worked so closely with Israeli media; we made friends all across the board. Jews of every shade and colour were acquaintances be they political or religious leaders, Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Messianic, New Age, Atheists, and Secular Israelis. We know Christians of all flavours and Palestinians both Muslim and Christian. No wonder we feel the tearing of the very fabric of human decency that holds us all together! Again, thank you for your prayers for all people in this part of the world during this season of Passover and Ramadan.

All Muslim Nations:

The fast of Ramadan has begun and continues for a month. It can be very taxing with no food or water allowed during daylight hours, and only after sunset is a meal eaten. Can you imagine dehydration in the heat?  This is the time in the Muslim calendar when Islamic radicals work overtime to attack Jews in any possible way. Recently their fingerprints were felt right here in Greece. They will be praising Allah now for the internal weakness they perceive taking place inside Israel.  Please put the Muslim nations on your list, name all that you can remember, and call for their Salvation, please! This is yet another reason to pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all of Israel.

Athens, Greece:

Greek police said in a statement: “Greece thwarts massive Iranian threat in Athens against Israeli Jewish targets. After the investigation of the suspects in Greece, the Mossad assisted in uncovering intelligence related to the infrastructure, methods of operation and the connection to Iran. Two Pakistanis of Iranian origin, aged 27 and 29, were planning attacks on Israelis in central Athens. One of the targets was reportedly a kosher restaurant and another a synagogue in the Greek capital. Their aim was not only to cause the loss of innocent lives of citizens but to undermine the sense of security in the country; while hurting public institutions and threatening [Greece’s] international relations,” United with Israel March 28. 2023.

Now that we senior Rawlings are retired we are spending more time here and inviting our children and grandchildren to do the same. Greece opened her arms to us. As was our pattern in Israel, we love to make friends with all people. Here it is mainly with the locals and some Albanians. Just today, Paniyota sent a large sack of hand-picked oranges to our door. Petros sent goat’s milk down from the high pastures, Anastasia sent goose eggs, and Fortunes brought chicken eggs. Anna sent chicken soup and a bag of apples. We have befriended many ‘Yayas’ – Grandmothers and Nuns in the local monastery. We are overwhelmed by kindness. We came to be a blessing, but just look at what is happening! Last week we joined in with them to celebrate Greece’s 201st anniversary of Freedom from Turkish rule.

Jerusalem wasn’t released from their grip until General Allenby and Australian troops routed them out of Jerusalem in 1917, marking the end of the Ottoman Empire.

As Passover will have come and gone between now and my next letter, here is Gad Elbaz. It reminds me of the glorious Passover Seder we enjoyed in the home of family members last year, 26 in all. We sat at the table until midnight. I was most impressed because it was the first time in all of my years that we actually completed the entire Agadah. Also, the men, of military background sang with great gusto, the little children ran around the garden connected to the dining room, and a grand time was had by all. It was an eve of holiness.

Our youngest grandson was just 1 year and 3 months old and didn’t close his eyes once. Gad Elbaz sings of the joy and tradition of a family sitting at the Seder Table, singing together. “Why is this night different from all others?” This is the question asked of the children.

Now, music from other sectors of our society:

Am Israel Hai – The People of Israel Live.

Every blessings from our home to yours.

Still Small Voice – 23 Adar 5783 / 24. März 2023

Meine lieben Freunde:

The experience made an indelible impression on my life. That was 1948. A momentous year on the earth.

Bitte erhebt Israel in Eurem Gebet:

Israeli Government Rejects President's Judicial Compromise - The New York Times

Amir Tzarfati

Amanda Grace, Elijah Stream Ministries.

Geliebte Freunde:

Zum Schluss: Habt Mut. Lasst uns unsere Herzen im Gebet vereinen.

Liebe Grüße von Meridel Rawlings
