Shalom Dear Friends,                                                                        Iyar 5780 This month, my husband, Jay has word for us all, which I found so encouraging. “The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life.  Proverbs  10:11 Last week I was asked to give a message to our senior’s  synagogue Bible study group. Normally we meet  but with the current COVID-19 situation we met via Zoom over the Internet. First, we study the Biblical portion of the week: the same portion is read at that time world wide. Then one of us gives speaks on a subject we all choose. It was my turn. My message was called,“Rabbi Akiva – The Epidemic Then and the Pandemic Now.” An epidemic in his day killed 24,000 of the Rabbi Akiva’s students, in fact all of them. It abruptly ended on the 33rd day between Passover and …

Religious leaders from 4 faiths, unite in unprecedented prayer in Jerusalem. 29 Nissan 5789 / 23 April 2020 Dear Friends: This is a time to pray and not faint! It is also a time for correction and new direction. There is movement in God’s Holy Spirit here in His City Jerusalem. Jay was invited to this prayer meeting, but we are in lock-down, or he would have gone. We are encouraged with the changes taking place. We were also guests of Rabbi Rosen, (mentioned below) decades ago and showed our film “Gates of Brass” in his synagogue in Dublin Ireland. Let us consider this word: “When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, (Australia) or command the locusts to devour the land, (East Africa) or send pestilence among My people, ( corona19virus) if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”  2 Chronicles …

Nissan 5780/April 2020 Hag Sameach… blessed  Passover! Dear Friends;Blessings to you at this sacred season from the Rawlings family in Jerusalem.  The magnificent menorah that stood in the Tabernacle of Meeting was crafted of pure gold. It was made using the pattern that Moses saw, which first existed in heaven. “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” Heb. 8:5c. Modern Israel’s official seal was taken from Moses’s account in the book of Exodus. Photo below.  President Rivlin reminded us in this time of national and global crisis to remember the good things. In the past year, Israel reached the moon, even though the landing was not soft. Also, Israel produced the first 3-D printed vascularized heart! As the father of our nation, he emphasised the importance of strengthening all of our relationships. Around the world, every Passover meal begins with asking the children: “Why is this night different from all others?” This year the world has not witnessed any Passover like it. Nissan 5780/April 2020 Liebe Freunde Wir, die Familie Rawlings aus Jerusalem, wünschen Euch Segen in dieser heiligen Jahreszeit. Die grossartige Menorah, welche aus purem Gold und von Hand gefertigt wurde, stand in der Stiftshütte der Begegnung. Sie wurde gemäss der Vorlage, die Mose sah, und die zuerst im Himmel vorhanden war, gemacht. «Achte darauf, dass du alles genau nach dem Vorbild ausführst, das dir auf dem Berg gezeigt wurde!» Hebr.8,5c. Das offizielle Siegel des modernen Staates Israel wurde, gemäss der Beschreibung von Mose, dem Buch Exodus (1. Mose) entnommen. (Siehe Foto unten). Präsident Rivlin ermahnte uns, in dieser Zeit einer nationalen und globalen Krise, dass wir uns an die guten Dinge erinnern sollen. Im letzten Jahr gelang es Israel den Mond zu erreichen, obwohl die Landung nicht gerade sanft war. Auch produzierte Israel das erste 3-D gedruckte, gefässbildende Herz! Nissan 5780/April 2020 Hag Sameach… siunattua juutalaisen pääsiäisen, pesachin aikaa! Kalliarvoiset ystävät!Siunaavat terveiset teille Rawlingsien perheeltä Jerusalemista vuoden pyhänä ajankohtana. Liitonmajassa ollut mahtava menora oli valmistettu puhtaasta kullasta. Se tehtiin Mooseksen näkemän mallin mukaan; mallin, joka ensin oli olemassa taivaassa. ”Katso, että teet kaiken sen mallin mukaan, joka sinulle näytettiin vuorella.” Hepr. 8:5 Nykyaikainen Israelin virallinen vaakuna otettiin Mooseksen kertomasta II Mooseksen kirjasta. Presidentti Rivlin kehotti meille tänä kansallisen ja maailmanlaajuisen kriisin aikana muistamaan hyvät asiat. Viime vuonna Israel saavutti kuun, vaikkei laskeutuminen ollutkaan pehmeä. Israel valmisti myös ensimmäisen 3D-tulostetun verisuonellisen sydämen! Kansakunnan isänä hän korosti kaikkien (ihmis)suhteittemme vahvistamisen tärkeyttä. Beloved Friends, new and old: This morning, Jay read these wonderful promises to us. Like you, we are in lockdown here in Israel, and cannot leave our home. Thankfully we have a garden. The rains have stopped, and the Sea of Galilee is full!  All of creation is rejoicing with the moisture. Earlier today, Jay picked the oranges, lemons, and limes that you see here on the table in front of us. We are taking this ‘time out’ to be refreshed and renewed within. How about you we would love to hear. “I will never leave you, nor forsake you. Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. I am He that lives and was dead; behold I am alive forevermore. I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you. Geliebte Freunde, neue und alte Heute Morgen liest uns Jay diese wunderbaren Verheissungen vor. Wie Ihr auch, leben wir hier in Israel unter Ausgangssperre, und können unser Zuhause nicht verlassen. Wir sind sehr dankbar, dass wir einen Garten haben. Der Regen hat aufgehört und der See Genezareth ist voll! Die ganze Schöpfung jauchzt über die Feuchtigkeit. Vor ein paar Stunden hat Jay Orangen, Zitronen und Limonen gepflückt, welche ihr hier auf dem Tisch vor uns seht. Wir benutzen dieses «Time out» um innerlich erfrischt und erneuert zu werden. Wie geht es Euch damit, wir würden das gerne von Euch hören? Ich werde dich keineswegs aufgeben und niemals verlasse ich dich. Und siehe, ich bin mit euch alle Tage bis zum Ende der Welt. Kallisarvoiset ystävät, uudet ja vanhat! Tänä aamuna Jay luki meille ääneen nämä ihanat lupaukset. Kuten tekin, mekin täällä Israelissa olemme lukittuina koteihimme, emmekä voi lähteä liikkeelle. Onneksi kaikeksi meillä on puutarha. Sateet ovat loppuneet ja Genesaretinjärvi on täynnä! Koko luomakunta iloitsee kosteudesta. Aiemmin tänään Jay poimi appelsiineja, sitruunoita ja limettejä, jotka näette edessämme pöydällä. Käytämme tämän ”aikalisän” virkistyäksemme ja uudistuaksemme sisäisesti.
