Our World Christmas 2018

Dear Friends, this is an email from a friend of mine Susan… Good Morning Prayer Warriors:  As we walk fully on into our Joyous Christmas Season and the revealing of Christ, it is difficult to understand the stark realities that Meridel and Jay Rawlings witness every moment of these days.  We have read that there will be wars and rumours of wars before His return, however, to be living in the midst of this prophesied chaos, must be mind-bending to say the very least.  Meridel and Jay are standing obediently where the Lord has asked them to be at this time in History.  Meridel expresses her concerns so eloquently and succinctly.  We need to listen and be praying for our World as never before, our leaders and for our dear friends,  Jay and Meridel as this unfolds, literally on their doorstep.  Lord, Your Kingdom come on Earth as it is in Heaven.    Ps. 122.  Ps. 23.    Pray without ceasing Ps. 91. Jay and Meridel, we love you and bless you and join you in Praying …

Still Small Voice – Kislev 23, 5779, December 2018

My Dear Friends: Shalom…loving greetings from Israel.  Jay and I (photo Lt) thank you for your friendship over many years. At this Hanukah and Christmas time, we celebrate the wonder of Light. I have lit my Hanukah lamps, you are lighting your Advent wreaths, and millions of lights decorate trees and homes all over the Western world. The Light of the Bible is the greatest threat to Fundamentalist Islam. Two hundred and fifty million Christians are at risk; in danger of being snuffed out. Israel is also fighting Fundamentalist Islam on 4 fronts… it is a time of encroaching darkness. Israel is the only nation in the Middle East where Christians are SAFE. I am thinking of Jesus in the Garden very much alone. This was the moment of a cataclysmic war between darkness and light. Twice He asked his disciples; What? Could you not watch with me one hour? Matthew 26:40 Pray that you enter not into temptation. Why do you sleep? Luke  22:40, 46.  John witnessed His intense loneliness, sorrow, and agony. And …

Jay remembers his father Victor Alloway Rawlings

Shalom! Every year in early November during the days leading up to Remembrance Day on the 11th; I think of my father, Victor Alloway Rawlings. He volunteered for service as a Canadian Soldier, leaving his pregnant wife and loved ones as so many hundreds of thousands of other men. She received the telegram in April 1945 announcing that at the age of 28 he died liberating Holland from the Nazi horror of World War II. His death, as that of any loved one, was sadly tragic to all who knew him; coming on 09 April 1945 He fell just three weeks before the Armistice or the Nazi surrender to the allies that was signed on 08 May 1945, marking VE Day or Victory over Europe.  I don’t believe my Mother ever got over her loss. I was 2 months old at the time, and have an illustrated love letter that he wrote to me just weeks before he died. It is a treasure. Thankfully, I can say with assurance that he was a believer and …

Still Small Voice – Tishri 5779 / October 2018

My dear friends; Shalom from Jerusalem, the City of the Great King! “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and hate your enemy. But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you.” Matthew 5:43,44. “And you will be hated by all for My Name’s sake. But those who endure to the end shall be saved.” Mark 13:13 TODAY nations are hanging in the balance all around the globe. You and I have been brought to the kingdom for such a time as this. In spite of the dire security situation we face, here in Jerusalem we have just worshipped and rejoiced with 7,500 saints from over 100 nations. They were attending the annual Feast of Tabernacles Christian Celebration hosted by the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem.  God’s salt and light showed up! Hallelujah!  Thank you for your letters and emails to me over the summer, which has swiftly passed. Jay and I spent time with our children and grandchildren which …

Happy Jewish New Year! Shana Tova!

Still Small Voice September 2018 / Tishri 5779 Meridel Rawlings, Box 84156, Mevasseret Zion, 9079097 Israel Dear Precious Friends, This season of the year in the Jewish calendar is filled with very meaningful life-giving events. It’s like a show and tell, and the Jewish people have been practicing them for thousands of years. Think of it! Since 1979 Christians are joining in the fun by making their way to Jerusalem from the four corners of the earth to celebrate their very own “Christian Celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles.” Pray for the day to come when we are truly one people! Questions: Did you know that during the Jewish New Year we write our sins on a piece of paper and throw it into the sea? Did you know that there is a secret to sitting quietly in the Succah? Did you know that we are encompassed round about by so great a cloud of witnesses? Why is it called the Feast of the Great King? If you have questions, write to me: meridel.rawlings@gmail.com Photo: …

Harvest in Mid-July!

We have had great weather in Israel this year. From well-needed rain coming at unexpected times to the glorious sun that we almost always have above us. This not only makes life pleasant, but it causes fruits, vegetables, and all plant life to grow and thrive. Jay and Meridel have always planted, and planted some more, in their small garden. They utilize the borders around the yard and every little corner that a spade of earth can occupy. The varieties of things that sprout and grow are amazing. Apart from beautiful flowers and trees, one can find bushes of herbal tea to olives, pomegranates, and clementines~there is always something to find and enjoy. This week the grapes along the arbor and around the fence are more than ready to be harvested. The birds have already noticed and begun their own picking. Early in the morning, Jay and Meridel pulled out the ladders and clippers to began bringing in the luscious clusters of sweet, beautiful grapes to munch on and make into juice. Enjoying the fruits …

Prayer Points – Summer 2018

Still Small Voice Thanks You for your prayers. The Torah portion, “Balak” tells of Baalam… the sorcerer in Moab who could not curse Israel as hard as he tried. Just as the LORD God made the donkey speak to warn this zealot, so to, He made it impossible for him to curse. Supernaturally he blessed the people of Israel. What an amazing story this is. See part of this prophecy below. “How lovely are your tents O Jacob! Your dwellings O Israel! He bows down, he lies down as a lion; and as a lion, who shall rouse him? Blessed is he who blesses you. And cursed is he who curses you.”  Numbers 24: 5, 9. In Hebrew, the verse about the lions reads: “Behold a people that rises like a lioness and raises itself like a lion.” “But, Judah shall abide forever. And Jerusalem from generation to generation.” Joel 4:20 Yehuda (Judah) is Yaakov’s (Jacob’s) fourth son. When the land is divided amongst the tribes of Israel, Yehuda receives the vast territory south of Jerusalem, extending from the Dead …

Still Small Voice… Passover 2018

Shalom… to you this Passover – Easter Season from the Rawlings in Israel! You see to the above, an ancient menorah carved out of rock found by a friend during our recent tour of Yodfat, a village destroyed by Roman legions in 60 CE/AD. David alone in the wilderness of Judah wrote: “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my strength.“ Ps 63:6a. When David asked questions he expected answers. The on going war against Messiah and His Kingdom is found in Psalm 102. David carried the title, Messiah,  as did all of Israel’s kings because they were dedicated to the service of the Almighty and anointed with holy oil in the Name of the LORD GOD of Israel. “Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together. Against the LORD and against His anointed? He who sits in the heavens shall laugh. The LORD has said …
