These are grievous times here in Israel; just ask any one living here today. It is becoming more difficult just to live, by that I mean to pay the bills. For example, because the post office is going to privatize, and is in a bankrupt situation they now charge an added 16.75% on our postage… It is the common folk who are paying more taxes, stressed because of pride and greed associated with privatization. Unfortunately we are a little USA.

The Buzz Word
Israel has fast become the “buzz” word in Christian circles. It’s the “in thing” now to visit our Knesset, and have orthodox Jews visit churches etc. Yesterday while in a photo shop, an Israeli who started an organization to “get Christian money” told me he was doing very well. This is needed but…

Gullibility
Don’t be fooled. The Israeli perspective of the Christian world is that Christians have money, and their organizations tremendous wealth. Much of the motivation for this ecumenism is not all that it should be. Meanwhile those of us who are here and have viable ministries can barely make ends meet. Something is wrong somewhere. Our support base has dissipated like morning mist at high noon, and we feel the heat.

War on the Ground
To win any war one must know the enemy. But Israel isn’t winning this war with Hamas. That is correct. Ettie, the receptionist at the doctor’s office and I had a chat. “Mr Sharon failed us” she said. “Israel grew weak, and the US pushed for democracy in the Palestinian Authority, we now have an elected terror group in place” I have to say I agree. We have had hundreds of rockets lobbed into Stederot on the S. W. border from Gaza since disengagement. Our troops face trouble on the Northern border and East.

A Deep Sense of Hopelessness
Mahmud Abbas, whose Israel policy is a carbon copy of Arafat’ is no different from Hamas, we have quotes of him calling for all of Israel to be in Palestinians hands. But, he is soft spoken and has the world fooled into believing that he is fighting for that magic word, ‘democracy’. Our Israeli leaders are weak and without experience. They lack the experience and timber of Israel’s founders. Talking is not going to get us through the mess we are in today. Yes we are praying for our leaders, but we Israelis are fighting a deep sense of hopelessness. What a confession this is, but we need people out there praying with knowledge along with the weapons of spiritual warfare. Oh, yes, how desperately Israel need to call out in need the LORD GOD of ISRAEL!
Meanwhile Israel has lost the media war. Our enemy is cunning, deceptive, slick, and will stop at nothing to try and destroy us physically and in public opinion. Hitler did the same, he found an enemy, the JEW! Is it all happening again? For example, I am sure that you are aware by now that the film footage and accusations by PA media, that the Israeli Navy murdered a Gazan family picnicking on the beach of Gaza is a LIE! (Weekend of June 10th) But seeing on television is believing right…

Cunning Liars
On Friday the 7th of June Israel was accused of blowing up a family picnic on the Gaza beach.
The following is the time frame of the PA TV editing and falsification :
00:1 -: 32 Seconds: PATV clip introduces the scene by showing an Israeli missile boat firing on the Gaza coast. Audio of ambulance siren is added to visual to create false impression that boat was shooting at same time, as ambulances were present.
0:32 – 1:05: Scene switches directly to the victims, creating a false connection between the events.
1:05 – 1:09: PA TV returns to the naval vessel showing sailor with binoculars looking at shore, again creating the false impression he is observing the evacuation.
1:09 – 2:00: The evacuation scene continues ending with the word “Why” on the screen only in English, indicating a foreign target audience, possibly media.

The video of the Israeli navy was unrelated to the deaths, having been filmed earlier in the day and had already been released to the media and to the internet by the Israeli army at 4:00 PM, an hour prior to the deaths.

Comment: It should be noted that not only is the video falsified, but the beach scene clearly backs the Israeli contention that the deaths were not caused by an Israeli shell. Any Israeli shell would have left a giant crater and spread sand over the entire area, as well as on the victims. There is no crater and the beach scene is not disturbed in a way that indicates an Israeli shell could have landed nearby. Palestinian Media Watch

This is WARFARE
How wonderfully clear the scriptures are on warfare: Ephesians 6:12-17
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Withstand in Greek is anthistemi…   okay so what am I getting at?  Compare it to the word “antihistamine.” From anti “against”, and histemi “to cause to stand”. The verb suggests vigorously opposing, bravely resisting, standing face to face against an adversary, standing your ground. Just as an antihistamine puts a block on histamine, anthistemi tells us that with the authority and spiritual weapons granted to us we can withstand evil forces. Strongs:#436.

For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Will you agree together with Jay and I as we stand before the LORD for our nation Israel, that like Daniel chapter 9 we will identify with the sins of our people… If my people, who are called by My Name, shall humble ourselves and pray and seek His face, and turn from our wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive our sin and heal our land.2 Chronicles 7:14

Recently after a month of illness, the doctor told me that I had exhibited symptoms of ‘bird flu’. I developed extreme allergies and involuntary coughing and sneezing that lasted almost a month; it tried to drain the life out of me. The LORD is teaching me the real meaning of “anthistemi”-withstanding evil in my will in order to withstand the terror of the enemy. Not only do we need antihistamine in our bodies to survive, we must exercise anthistemi, our will at one with God’s Word.

We have become a divided and splintered people; a popular symbol for this are two separate triangles, meaning that the Star of David has been pulled apart. See Jeremiah 14:19-21

Israel is not the land we long to see. This is the 3rd generation of those who first came home in 1948, and most of them know nothing of the scriptures or the good promises given over them and their homeland. There is a growing hunger among the young, but multitudes have turned to drugs, entertainment, work, sex or alcohol.  You see we are like the other nations. We no longer see a need to preserve our land.

Our Fathers have failed miserably in leading us to the LIVING ONE. However, He will lead us home… He will lead us to Himself as we beseech him. Today is the hour for the Jew and Christian to befriend one another. It is the day for one to receive the riches of each other as well. Let us pray for God’s Salvation to come.
